BPA Observed National Mourning Day

Bangladesh Police Academy observed the National Mourning Day on the 42nd death anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with befitting manner. The day’s programme started with hoisting of the national flag at half-mast and raising of black flags atop BPA buildings to show respect to the martyrs of August 15, 1975 carnage.

A discussion meeting was held at the BPA Gymnasium on this occasion. Mr.Md. Nazibur Rahman, ndc; Principal, BPA attended the meeting as Chief Guest. Mr. Abdullah Al Mahmud BPM, Vice Principal; Mr. Md. Anwar Hossain, SP (Basic Training); Mr. Md. Zannatul Hasan BPM Bar, Addl SP (Probationers’ Training)  among others delivered speech in the meeting. Other senior officials of Bangladesh Police Academy, ASP probationers, Outside Cadets, TRCs, instructors and staff were present at the programme. The speakers recalled the remarkable speech of our greatest leader on 7 March, 1971 which united the entire nation against the atrocities of Pakistan army and paved the way towards the independence of the country. They also recalled the colorful political life of Banga Bandhu and his unparalleled leadership in the political history of the country such as language movement in 1952, students`movement in 1962, Six Points Movement in 1966 (Magna Carta of our Liberation) and mass rising in 1969. Mentioning newly recruited officers as future leaders of Bangladesh police, the speakers said that Banga Bandhu`s patriotism and pragmatic attitude towards the development of the country should be the driving force for building his ‘Sonar Bangla’– a happy, prosperous, non-communal and democratic Bangladesh.  After Juhr prayers, BPA arranged a milad and doa mahfil at BPA mosque  which was attended by all officers and staff.
